U.S. Paper Counters (USPC) has been in the paper counter industry for over 33 years and has now grown to be one of the largest suppliers of counting and tabbing equipment in the world. Located in the Catskill Mountains of upstate New York, a short distance from the metropolitan centers of New York City, Boston and Montreal, USPC manufactures a wide range of high-speed paper counting and batch-tabbing equipment.

Started in 1976, U.S. Paper Counters initially only serviced other paper counting equipment. However, in 1981 we designed and started producing our first paper counter/batch-tabber. It's been a success story since then with the line of counters and their options growing all the time. Our marketplace is over 40% international; therefore, USPC's equipment is "CE Certified", as required for the European Community.

Count-Wise I
The Count-Wise I is the ideal choice for printers, paper converters, stationers, and other companies looking for consistent quantity control. Featuring a 28" x 28" table

and jogging plate, the Count-Wise I counts up to 2500 sheets per minute and tabs in batches from 3 to 9999 with unfailing accuracy for any size job.
 

Count-Wise M
The Count-Wise M is the perfect solution for large stock. It has the same speed and production capabilities of the Count-Wise I, but features a larger, 36" x 36" air

flotation table standard, two jogging plates, plus a steel base with locking storage cabinet. Larger air flotation tables and larger standard tables are available for

effortless handling of large and cumbersome stock. This unit's large electronic displays and one button initiation, provide quick and accurate counting of stock. 

 

Count-Wise III
The Count-Wise III counter is able to count material of .010 up to .030* without damage to the material at speeds of up to 1000 cpm's (Counts per Minute). The Count-Wise III, as with all U.S. Paper Counters' equipment, can help you obtain the quantity control you require, at the push of a button. Lager models with air flotation tables available 

 

Max-Bantam
Designed for companies whose priority is cost justification, the Max-Bantam counts up to 2000 sheets per minute with absolute accuracy while inserting tabs in

Shooter-IIB

Designed to work with high speed equipment, the Shooter-II can fire 3 tabs per second plus has count erase and stagger tab for use with multiple tabbing heads.

Sharp Shooter-IIB
The Sharp-Shooter II has all of the features of the Shooter-II plus the additional capability to flag spoilage sheets with the insertion of a red dye marked tab at the

beginning and end of the spoilage via wireless remote or touch pad interface. This feature enables you to MAXimize press time by not interrupting production to

separate spoilage sheets from good ones.

Another way to tab after product has been manufactured. (by one of our clients, a midwestern envelope manufacturer)

 

We ran into a problem after the product was manufactured outside our plant. It was discovered that the end user wanted the product tabbed every 12 pieces.

We had almost 2 million pieces to tab. If we sent it outside to be batched by hand the cost was quoted at $.05 - $.08 per batch of 12.

I contacted USPC and after some discussion acquired a Shooter II tabber. My idea was to use one of our Halms Super Jets offset printers to deliver the product

on a belt shingled and separated to allow the Tabber to insert tabs.

It took a little experimentation and working with Rob Wagner to redo the software. The tabber had to cut the tab immediately instead of holding the tab for a few

seconds and then cutting. I also found that angling the tabber so the blunt end was not hitting but the corner of the tab was inserting worked well.

I must really compliment Rob and his staff: they worked with me almost day and night to research and solve problems. We were able to tab the product every 12

and get the 2 million done without many problems at all. We saved more than enough money to pay for the Shooter II and then some.

As a contracting packaging company we work with many diferent types of consumer products in all shapes and sizes. This is especially true with the paper products

we run. With today's modern computer and printer paper sizes rangeing from 4 x 6 inches up to 13 x 19 inches, all with different coatings and weights. In the old days

we used to count paper using scales and paper spoons, very slow and inefficient methods. On the recommendation of our largest customer we purchased a machine
