Manufacturing of Calender Hangers

 

For Calendar-hangers, 70 to 500 mm (2 ½” to 16 ½”) in length.
A new fully automatic digital wire hanger-maker for galvanised or nylon-coated wires of
2 mm Ø, for all kinds of calendar bindings: DOUBLE-LOOP or spiral. HANGY-MATIC is used as an independent, fully-automatic unit, to manufacture loose,

heavy gauge wire hangers (with or without buckle), for stocking and/or resale, or for immediate insertion in calendars being automatically bound on In-Line equipment.
Productivity: 3’500 to 4'500 pcs./hr. depending on length manufactured.
Straight hangers (no buckle) always having a faster output !
HANGY-MATIC is practical and very economical ! Therefore ideal for large calendar producers or distributors on a given market or exporters of calendar hangers.
230/400 V, 3 ph., 1 kW; + compressed air 75-80 PSI (5,5 bar) needed.

 

E40

This economical, compact electric power-punch is a high-performance-HD machine with an hourly capacity of approx. 10'000 sheets, a working width of 430 mm and adjustable depth- and side-lay-settings. Interchangeable punching-dies allow different hole-profiles and pitches (except TAB’s).

SWIGRAPH also provides special-punching-dies according to your choice.

These regrindable high-performance, full steel punching-dies meet maximum demands of quality.
The integrated security-button enables an automatic deblocking at eventual jam-ups.
A foot-pedal provides the activation of 1 punching-cycle at a time, so no noisy, continuous flywheel or external clutch.
Punching-confetti is collected in a drawer with see-through windows.

Heavy 0.55 kW geared brake-motor - 230/400V. – 3 ph. – 50/60 cy.

 

E420C

Industrial HD Power-Punch and Electro-Closer for all diameters of DOUBLE LOOP bindings, now new from 4.7 to 31.75 mm Ø (3/16” – 1 ¼”). Working width: 430 mm (17”). For closing, all diameters are ever-parallel and steplessly adjustable with a central hand-lever. Our exclusive electric finger-guard is incorporated as standard feature. Heavy industrial and interchangeable punching dies (any profile, except Tabs!) are compatible with our E40: the “punch-only”-version of this machine. Punch-dies for other punch-profiles too, fit both E40 and E420C machines.

Heavy 0.55 kW geared brake-motor, functions with 230/400V. – 3 ph. – 50/60 cy.

 

E600

This industrial machine with interchangeable dies, can perform the following perforations:
All punching lines with variable forms and spacings, as well as a dotted line.
Very rapid assembly of dies.
Capacity:
Standard dies: 3-4 mm, depending on perforation type and hole size.
Electric equipment:
Geared brake-motor 1.0 kW – 230V, with frequency modulation; brake held electromagnetically.
Reversing switch in case of blocking. Maximum 108 cycles/minute.
Safety devices:
Device against non-repetition of cycles. Electromagnetic braking.
On special request, addition of further protection via photoelectric cell barrier.
Machine complying with CE regulations re work safety.
Working width: 600 mm.

 

TWR - SX - SLG

A compact automatic punching machine, which is conceived with a patented mechanism. It has a productivity of 40'000 to 50'000 sheets/h (70 g/m2).

The consecution of pre-collated sheets of max. 435 x 435 mm (17” x 17”) is retained. Its vertical construction saves valuable floor space.
TWR is today delivered as model “sx-slg” with tremendous time-saving feature on die-changing from the side (only in aprx. 2-3 min.)! All hole-punching profiles

are available (except TAB-punching).

 

Electro Handy

ELECTRO-Handy MODEL H1 is a robust punch and manual closer for DOUBLE-LOOP wire bindings.

The machine is equipped with interchangeable standard dies for both, 3:1" and 2:1" pitch, as well as for other binding profiles.

ELECTRO-Handy Model H1 permits to work with bindings, standard up to a width of 340 mm and all spiral diameters of 3/16" (4.7 mm) to 1" (25.4 mm).

"NEW!: Upon spezial request, the machine can also be equipped with 420 mm punch-dies for DOUBLE-LOOP as well as for plastic-comb, respectively

spiral-binding-systems."

The strong geared brake motor of 0.25 kw operates on 230V, 50/60 cy and punches easily
22-24 sheets of 80 g paper.

The dies of the ELECTRO-Handy Model H1 are economically built. The user can easily afford many different punch patterns for all lose-leaf binding systems

available on the market; including plastic-comb and spiral bindings etc with or without thumb-cut.

ELECTRO-Handy Model H1 is also equipped with a LED display, which assists the user with simple instructions.

 

 

PZ599 - II

This automatic punching machine is unique in design. It joins the well known principle of paper transport in a straight line with a well engineered “adjustable conveyor

system”: to give high production speeds from the very small to the very large (20 x 20”/500 x 500 mm) paper sizes which can be punched on it!

Further advantages are:

R6

Automatic Spiral binder (for nylon-coated or galvanised wires 0,8 – 1,6 mm Ø). Spiral-range:
6 to 30 mm Ø (1/4″ to 1 3/16″). Inner diameters up to 45 mm (1 1/2″) Ø are possible with model ′AL′ ! This machine has been proven world-wide, and is based on solid,

reliable spiral formers and a rotating & driven 3-roller force-feeding system that guarantees a spiral entry in the holes of the sheets with utmost regularity. R6 comes equipped with 2 tempered knives for automatic cutting/ simultaneous bending of the 2 spiral ends. Max. working width is:
570 mm (22 7/8″) or 440 mm (17 1/3”), unlimited sheet lengths. Productivity varies according to book-diameter, installed ejection options and dexterity of operator.

It’s output reaches over 550 pcs./hr (e.g. A5 booklets) with a single operator.
Options: HOOKY®: (div. patents), our cost efficient, automatic hanger-former (uses a central spiral-loop to form an integrated hanger); ABZ: pneumatic

auto-ejection of bound calendars/booklets onto 2 conveyor belts towards the packing station, and at wish Auto-Exit 180° turntable at exit.

 

 

JIG-UP Models I,II & III
This Spiral-Former is independent of pitch !
You can make metal spirals in any pitch, without having to change anything on the machine, except the forming heads.

Our standard R6-spiralheads as well as our fine pitch adjusting component (are from our R-6 Industrial Spiral binder). This makes the JIG-UP constant in use,

long-lasting and powerful.

To form spirals:
The diameter range is 6 mm to 45 mm (¼" to 1½") - any pitch of your choice!
Spiral heads larger than 22 mm Ø and pitches other than 5 & 6 mm are specials, that can be delivered at your request.

The operator pre-sets the length of the spiral pieces digitally, then JIG-UP always forms "automatically" and electronically the pre-set length, constantly, day-in

and day-out.
Cutting is also automated in models II & III, except in the econo-model I.

JIG-UP can use all wires from 0.8 mm to 1.5 mm Ø, galvanized or nylon coated. Spiral lengths up to 1.65 m can be ordered extra for units I & II, but not for auto-packing.

Auto-packing is especially for pre-set lengths - available as JIG-UP III, which packs the manufactured lengths up to 330 mm automatically in cartons.

As the JIG-UP is made with components of our automatic industrial R6-Spiral Binder it is very heavy duty and can be used for several shifts per day.

JIG-UP is shipped fully assembled in a slightly larger crate and is ready to use with 400V / 3ph current, 0.75 kW power.

 

 

R8 - PVC

The R8-Autobinder is composed of several modules, which work with “multi-length” PVC-coils.

An Automatic PVC-coil binder for any pre-fab plastic spiral-coils of diameters 8 mm to
30 mm (5/16″ to 1 3/16″). Based on the same reliable R6-standard unit for metal wires, the R8-PVC uses pre-fabricated PVC-spirals (coils) which are automatically

fed into the binder. This by using our multi-length continuous channel-feeder, for these lengths of spiral-coils. As Profi-In Line it is coupled directly with our SWI 50 coil-forming machine and its auto-feeder table.
Using coils of max. 1650 mm (65″) length in the channel-feeder, one achieves e.g. a yield of 7x “automatically bound” DIN A5 (8″) long spiralled booklets, coming

from that single piece of coil. Booklets are also consecutively ejected on the exit-conveyor and transported to the packing station. Using this channel-feeder, the

productivity for 120 sheets, DIN A5 (8”) sized bindings is around 500 pcs/hr. This increases substantially e.g. for smaller booklets and Ø’s, and also by using the

auto-feeder directly In-Line from our SWI-50 forming-machine.

Since the market launch of the Profi-In-Line at DRUPA '08, the machine was continuously developed, which gives SWIGRAPH today a worldwide leading position

concerning diameters as well as productivity per hour.

At the end of 2009 the unit will be available on request coupled with our Autofeeder D-Tangler Jr.“.
Also for the end of 2009 it is planned to deliver for present customers also, a retro-fit module for the R8-PVC Profi In-Line, which will lead to an increase of

productivity of approx. 85-90%. The investment of an additional 30-35% to the original Profi In-Line module is thus justified by the nearly doubled productivity,

resulting in a very lucrative “price-performance” ratio.

 

R7 „hybride“ – a new concept!
High performance automatic binder for PVC-coils and metal wires in one single machine!

This machine is operated by only one single person.

With PVC-filaments and in auto-modus R7 „hybride“ binds with coils up to 25 mm Ø approx. 500 booklets/hour. In case of smaller diameters (i.e. 16 mm) some

customers in USA regularly bind 500-600 booklets/ hour with this machine today.

The „hybride“ model of R7 can also bind with metal wires. For this application the bookbinder needs a kit, that can easily be mounted on top of the R7. With such an

adapter the machine forms and binds metal spirals itself up to 32 mm Ø. This combination in auto-modus is also operated by a single person!

For PVC-coils SWIGRAPH can supply an In-Line adapter that enables a fully automatic connection of the SWI-50 PVC-Former to the R8-PVC Auto-Binder.

SWIGRAPH can supply such production lines at a very attractive price-performance relationship. In view of such unique features, well known european and american companies have adopted this modular unit R7 or R8-PVC.

 

Plastic Coil Former

This thermo-former for PVC-spiral/coil manufacturing provides independence and flexibility for your production schedules. With fast changeovers of only 5-6 minutes,

SWI-50 can pruduce spiral coil diameters from 6 to 50 mm (¼“ – 2“), in all standard pitches (5 mm, 6 mm or 5:1“, 4:1“ and 3:1“) as well as „specials“ on request!

Digital displays facilitate your controls at all times. The coils with a maximum length of 1650 mm and a minimum of 51 mm (2“), are formed from PVC-filament

that we deliver in a wide variety of colours and thickness up to 3.5 mm.

Productivity varies according to the coil- and filament-diameter, e.g.:
10 seconds per 1 meter in 6 mm (=¼“) Ø
to 33 sec. per 1 m in 32 mm (=1 ¼“) Ø.

 

D Tangler

D-TANGLER Jr. is the worlds first table-top separator/feeder for PVC-coils (CH & US patents). It feeds most manual or electric coil-binder apparatus, in particular

table-tops.

These are some of the characteristics:

D-TANGLER Jr. functions as an autonomous feeder that singles out pre-cuts from a batch of PVC-coils stored in its magazine, automatically delivering them

to the binding apparatus at table-level, set next to it.
D-TANGLER Jr. works with all diameters from 6 mm up to 30 mm. The max. working width of this standard auto-feeder is 330 mm (13”). In future a unit for

“plastic-comb bindings” will also be available.
D-TANGLER Jr. is ideal for short and long production runs. It allows a swift handling of the pre-cut lengths bought in boxes.
Depending on the diameter of the coils the hourly output of the D-TANGLER Jr. is aprox. 700-800 pieces. On special order, a unit that de-tangles 1000 standard

diameter pieces per hour can be supplied.
D-TANGLER Jr. can be custom made to fit semi-automatic PVC-coil binders, equally enhancing their productivity with “off-the shelf” precut PVC-coils.
D-TANGLER Jr. Can also be delivered as a special model, to be completed to semi-automatic PVC-coil binding machines. This increases the productivity with p

recut PVC-coils palpably.
D-TANGLER Jr. works on 230V or 115V monophase. 

 

 

Double Loop Binding

Industrial Electro-Closer for DOUBLE LOOP bindings for all pitches and diameters from: 3/16” to 1” Ø (now new & upon request ¼” – 1 ¼”). Diameters for closing

are ever parallel & stepless-adjustable with 1 central handlever. The exceptionally large working width of 520 mm
(20 ½”) is ideal for a table-top machine. Productivity varies depending on thickness and width of the document, so it can reach up to aprox. 650 pcs/h for a DIN A5

format (e.g.=3/8” Ø) and about 450-500 pcs/h for calendars of 500 mm width and ¼” Ø. This is reduced to 250-300 pcs/h when with wire-hangers (i.e. two pcs. of

DOUBLE-LOOP bindings + a central hanger). Our exclusive electric finger-guard is incorporated in this unit as standard feature.

 

Snappy

Electronic cutter for DOUBLE LOOP bindings. No pedal necessary! Fully automatic, sensor controlled cycle provides user a new cut length, everytime the

previously presented one is taken away from the delivery channel.

3 to 99 loops of all pitches can be digitally preset for cutting. A counter with auto-memory shows you the number of lengths already cut for the job at hand.

Cuts all diameters from 3/16“ to 1“ (and 1 ¼ on special order) as well as all pitches:, 3:1“, 2:1“, 9/16“ and 4:1“ (on request).

Needs 230V monophase/ 1 ph., 50 cy / 50 Hz.

 

SWI 520

This unit automatically inserts and closes DOUBLE-LOOP bindings off spools, in the whole range of both 3:1“ and 2:1“ pitches (from 3/16“ till 1“ Ø ).
The operator simply places the pre-punched sheets on the working table of the machine and touches the side-lay with them, thus activating the embedded micro-switch

there. The auto-cycle of the machine then proceeds to the complete binding operation, bringing back the now bound sheets (booklet or calendar) towards the operator.

A foot pedal activation of the above auto-cycle is also available, to let new operators get accustomed to this swift automatic unit.

An ever available electronic key-board and single buttons with a complete manual cycle for all functions facilitate all setting operations.

The exchange of the DOUBLE-LOOP bindings on spools only takes a few minutes. Also the required closing-jaws are exchanged with a few screws and the work-table

is easily set by 2-3 knobs to a new height - whenever necessary. The working width of this unit is 520 mm. The maximum sheet size is 500x80mm, the minimum being

50x80 mm.

SWI 800

This unit automatically inserts and closes DOUBLE-LOOP bindings off spools, in 3:1“ pitch (from 3/16“ to 9/16“ Ø ). Whereas only the first 3 diameters have 800 mm

closing jaws; the remaining have 520 mm long working width.
The operator simply places the pre-punched sheets on the working table of the machine and touches the side-lay with them, thus activating the embedded

micro-switch there. The auto-cycle of the machine then proceeds to the complete binding operation, bringing back the now bound sheets (booklet or calendar)

towards the operator.

A foot pedal activation of this auto-cycle is also available, to let new operators get accustomed to the swift automatic unit & its setting.

A simple electronic key-board and single buttons (with a complete manual cycle for all functions), facilitate all setting operations.

The exchange of the DOUBLE-LOOP binding spools is easy, comprehensive and takes only a few minutes. Also the required closing-jaws are exchanged with a

few screws and the work-table is easily set – whenever necessary- by 2-3 knobs to a new height. The working width of this unit is 800 mm. The maximum sheet

size is 800x80 mm, the minimum being 50x80 mm.

HOOKY W Automatic

HOOKY® is a new idea in the field of calendar binding. Its main aim: to provide a practial and economical calendar hanger.
In fact HOOKY® is an incorporated hanger made of the DOUBLE-LOOP wire binding itself.
Advantages of HOOKY® :
No ordering or pre-stocking of loose conventional hangers.
Capital costs can be paid off in 1 or 2 years.
Production times are cut to a minimum.
Adaptable to various diameters and pitches, e.g. Ø ¼” – 3:1”.

Models of HOOKY® apparatus available for DOUBLE-LOOP wire binding:

 

Independent table top model, type W-I manual – max. production approx. 450-500 pcs/hr.

Semi-automatic unit with conveyor feeder and ejector, type W-II AUTO – max. production approx. 850-900 pcs/hr. Calendars are simply placed on the entry

conveyor belt, followed by automatic production and conveyor delivery to packing table.

Fully automatic unit for “In-Line” production. Conveyor belt fed (take up) and delivery. Unit is built in the production line prior to flipping-over and packaging

stations and works optionally: only when switched on. Adapted on BIELOMATIC & WOMAKO production lines.

 

 

Crimper

CRIMPER makes DOUBLE-LOOP bindings safer !
This simple, pneumatic unit functions on both pitches 3:1“ & 2:1“ ;

Till now, the use of DOUBLE-LOOP for binding children booklets
was not allowed in all countries. Some authorities cautioned re the
2 sharp extremities of this binding, specially in 2:1“ for thick booklets,
as it highened the risk of hurting hands or fingers of children.

Our CRIMPER eliminates this risk, opening new markets for your bindings !

Function:
the two sharp extremities of the OUBLE-LOOP are folded simultaneously inwards.

 

Tab Cut

To cut different TAB shapes & lengths SWIGRAPH offers a number of heavy-duty industrial machines.
With our TAB-CUT it is possible to produce TABs cut on one or both sides – according to the needs of the user. These changes of size are very simple, as one

pair of knives glides in its railing to the wished size. The client can also produce several shapes of TABs, provided such knives are ordered. Exchange sets of

knives are always available!
SWIGRAPH has been making knives to cut and punch dies for „ALL“ punching machine brands for years! Therefore it is possible to purchase directly from us (one single supplier) either a complete installation for reinforcing, machines for cutting TABs, or dies only for a TAB cutting machine you may already own.

 

 

SWI Tab

 

A semi-automatic machine, but with an automatic cycle that cuts, rounds corners and positions the polyester foil (off a 600 m roll), then immediately seals the thus positioned TAB. I.e. when the sheet is presented to the machine, the TAB is automatically sealed at the pre-set location.
This unit’s performance of approx. 300'000 to 320'000 tabs per month (1 shift, 5 days week), which is sufficient for smaller, limited European editions.

With the SWI-TAB it is possible to reinforce TAB lengths of 20 to 120 mm – infinitely variable – without productivity restrictions. Rolls of 600 meters, are available in a large assortment of colours! With such rolls it is possible to produce from one reel minimum 15'000 pieces of standard TABS, each of 40 mm. So normally, one reel is sufficient for more then a day’s production. The machine has separate top and bottom thermostats to accomodate papers with different surfaces.
Special feature & option: SWI-TAB manufactures – with the same colored bands – also „Inser-TAB’s“ for inserteble tags.
