Between Stockport and Manchester Piccadilly Michael came back for another bite (the train was 14 minutes late arriving into Manchester Piccadilly), the time was 9.34 pm. He told me that my ticket was only valid to Stockport as he had checked on the ‘on board’ computer! He asked again to see my ticket (which he had seen twice before and I had shown three times in the last two hours). I chose to only show him the part which confirmed Manchester as the destination. The other passengers were beginning to show some anger at his persistent haranguing (with knowing and concerned smiles ) but I once again choose to refrain from any and all forms of response so as not to entice the raging beast to further retaliatory actions.
